Machine Guarding

This training covers OSHA requirements for CFR section 1910, Subpart O, Machinery and Machine Guarding (29 CFR 1910.211 – 1910.219). Instruction is provided on the hazards associated with various types of machinery and the determination of proper machine safeguards.
Course topics include:
- Common hazards associated with machinery
- Machinery processes, mechanical motions, and points of operation
- Common causes of machine incidents and how to avoid them
- How to recognize machine hazards and provide options for hazard abatement
- Basic concepts, principles, and methods of machine guarding
- Guarding requirements for woodworking, abrasive wheel, and power presses
- Controlling energy sources. (Lockout/Tag out)
- Guarding portable powered tools
