The Utah Manufacturers’ Association offers a variety of industry awards at two of our annual events, The Manufacturing Expo and the UMA Annual Awards Banquet. The awards consist of different categories based on company size, see chart below. Self-nominations are encouraged. Past awards have been presented to Bean Trailer and Rezzimax for the Coolest Thing Made in Utah. Application due dates are listed with the awards below. Applying for an award is a great opportunity to showcase your company’s strengths.

Manufacturer of the Year (MOTY)

Manufacturing is not short of great examples of excellence, and we know organizations of all shapes and sizes achieve success. All manufacturers in Utah are encouraged to apply.

Your company does not need to be headquartered in Utah. Any person or group can submit nominations, and self-nomination is encouraged. The award is based on company size: small, medium, large, X large, XX-large, and XXX-large. Please look at the chart below to see more about company sizes. The 1st place winners will be announced at the Annual Awards Banquet 2022.

We encourage your participation and look forward to honoring the tremendous efforts made by outstanding manufacturing companies in the State of Utah. All nominations must be submitted electronically before COB on October 28th, 2022.

Coolest Thing Made in Utah

Spread the news anyone and everyone is encouraged to nominate their favorite Made In Utah product. Products nominated can be from any sector of the Manufacturing Industry but must be Made In Utah. The company does not have to be headquartered in Utah.

Utah Manufacturers Association will review each nomination to ensure these requirements are met. If for any reason the nomination does not meet these requirements the nominator will be notified.

Manufacturing Company Culture

The Best Company Culture award recognizes companies that have created a culture where employees feel valued, are passionate about the company’s mission, and are confident in their role in fulfilling the mission. Winning organizations will have at least 50% of their workforce complete the online survey and score high marks.

Share the Culture survey with your team. All nominations must be submitted electronically before COB on October 28th, 2022.

Note: By filling out the survey, your company will automatically be registered to win this award.

Workplace Work Safe Award

This award recognizes companies that have sustained improvement in safety performance and have programs in place to continue the path toward safety excellence. These excellent elements are Management leadership in safety, excellence in safety performance measures, employee engagement in safety improvement, continuous improvement planning and metrics, safety committees, proactive and reactive safety programs, and training for management and employees.

Criteria for Safety Award – Sustained injury rate performance for more than 2 years. E-Mod rate improvement for more than 2 years. All nominations must be submitted prior to COB on October 28th, 2022.
