Utah Manufacturers Association Hosts Manufacturing Day on the Hill

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — February 9, 2026 — The Utah Manufacturers Association (UMA) is proud to host Manufacturing Day on the Hill on Tuesday, Feb. 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Utah State Capitol Rotunda. This signature event welcomes Utah’s legislators, policymakers, industry leaders, and community members to celebrate the impact of manufacturing across the Beehive State and highlight how the industry drives economic prosperity.
Manufacturing Day on the Hill showcases of products and innovations created right here in Utah. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect directly with Utah manufacturers, explore exhibits displaying locally made goods, and hear firsthand how manufacturing contributes to job creation, technological advancement, and the state’s long-term economic vitality.
“What Utah Makes, Makes Utah” — this year’s event theme reflects the deep connection between manufacturing and the strength of Utah’s economy.
Why Manufacturing Matters in Utah
Utah’s manufacturing sector is a cornerstone of the state’s economy, contributing significantly to employment, wages, and gross domestic product:
- Manufacturing provides more than 140,000 jobs statewide, making it one of Utah’s largest employment sectors.
- The industry supports roughly one-fifth of all jobs in Utah, underscoring its role as a major economic engine.
- Manufacturing generates about one-quarter of Utah’s total GDP, contributing billions annually to the state’s economic output.
- Wages in manufacturing are among the highest in the state, with average earnings well above the statewide average, reflecting high-quality career opportunities for Utahns.
