The process of investigating a worksite incident such as a fatality, injury, illness, or close call. Students will learn a process of identifying workplace hazards and finding shortcomings in their safety and health programs. Most importantly, it enables employers and workers to work together to identify and implement the corrective actions necessary to prevent future incidents.
Investigating an Incident properly will focus on identifying and correcting root causes, not on finding fault or blame. Ongoing incident investigations are key in preventing workplace injuries and fostering continuous improvement.
